An open-source agent that playtests your game for you: Aura's Autopilot plugs into Claude Code or Codex

Aura open-sourced Autopilot under the Apache 2.0 licence. It is an agent that plays your game inside the editor, moving, clicking and checking what happens, so it can find bugs and broken flows the way a human tester would. It supports Unreal Engine 5.4 to 5.8, Unity 6 and Godot 4.7 or newer on Windows and macOS. You can run it on your existing Claude Code or Codex subscription or bring your own API key. Aura says it is more accurate and almost twice as fast as Claude Code at playtesting; that is Aura's own benchmark.

Why it matters

Coding agents can write game code, but they rarely check that the game actually plays. A free playtesting agent closes that loop for small studios without a QA team.

Who it's for

Indie and small-studio game developers on Unreal, Unity or Godot who already use Claude Code or Codex.

How to try it

  1. Download Autopilot from GitHub and add it to your project: Plugins/ for Unreal, Package Manager for Unity, or addons/ for Godot.
  2. Connect a model with autopilot connect claude or autopilot connect codex, or add your own API key.
  3. Start play mode in the editor and ask Autopilot to test a level or flow and report bugs.

Plan & availability: Free and open source (Apache 2.0). Uses your own Claude Code or Codex subscription or an API key. Runs in the editor, not on shipped builds.
