1,000 free web-search credits a month for your agents: Tavily Researcher, no card
Tavily's Researcher plan is a standing free tier for agent search: 1,000 API credits every month, no credit card required, with email support. Credits reset on the first day of each month. You sign up, grab an API key from the dashboard, and call search, extract or crawl endpoints from Claude Code, Cursor, custom agents or Tavily's SDKs. Advanced or higher-volume requests spend more credits per call; when the monthly pool is gone, requests stop until reset or you move to Pay As You Go ($0.008 listed) or a Project plan. Students can request a separate free arrangement, and startups can apply for 100k credits.
Why it matters
Agents that cannot search go stale. A monthly free search pool is enough to prototype retrieval tools without wiring a paid SERP key on day one.

- Open tavily.com/pricing, choose Researcher (Free) and create an account without a card.
- Copy your API key from the dashboard and install the Python or JavaScript SDK.

- If you burn the 1,000 credits before month-end, wait for the 1st reset or enable Pay As You Go.
