A quick prompt to test whether an image model can count
A tester compared Nano Banana 2 Lite and Nano Banana 2.1 with one tricky prompt: ten children in bright raincoats on a seaside promenade, each holding up a different number of fingers, from one on the left to ten on the right. Counting and ordering like this is a classic weak spot for image models, so it shows quickly how a new model handles it.
Why it matters
A small set of hard test prompts tells you more about a new image model than a pile of pretty samples.
Who it's for
Designers and developers choosing between image models.
How to try it
- Run the same prompt on two models.
- Count the fingers in each result rather than judging the whole image.
- Add your own tests: legible text on a sign, a calendar with correct dates, or hands holding objects.
Plan & availability: Any Nano Banana model in the Gemini app, AI Studio or the API.
