Switch the Gemini app from chat to tasks so it keeps working while you're away
With Gemini 4 Argon, the Gemini app gained a chat-to-tasks toggle in the main window. In tasks mode Gemini can keep working on a job across your Google apps even when you are not at your computer. Google also says Gemini now connects to more than 40 apps, including Instacart, OpenTable, Adobe and Shopify. Tasks are available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.

How to try it
- Open the Gemini app on a Google AI Pro or Ultra plan and flip the toggle from chat to tasks.
- Give it an outcome, not a question, for example: "Find a table for four near the office on Friday at 7pm and add it to my calendar."
- Connect the apps it needs when it asks, and review any booking or purchase before you confirm it.
