Try the new voices and accents in ChatGPT Voice (GPT-Live-1.1)
GPT-Live-1.1 rolled out to all ChatGPT users on October 15 with new voices, better accents and less "checking..." pausing. It adds voices in French, German, Hindi, Mexican Spanish, Korean and Japanese, and it also powers Voice in Codex and dots. OpenAI says API access is coming soon.
Why it matters
Voice mode is faster and sounds more natural in more languages, which makes it practical for language practice and hands-free use.
Who it's for
Language learners, commuters and anyone who prefers talking to typing.
How to try it
- Open Voice in the ChatGPT app and pick one of the new voices in settings.
- Practise a language: "Talk to me in Mexican Spanish about ordering at a restaurant, and correct my mistakes."
- Use it hands-free for quick brainstorming while walking.
Plan & availability: All ChatGPT users; voices vary by region and account. Settings > Voice.
